TIJ (Thermal Inkjet) is a maintenance-free technology where the print head is part of the cartridge. CIJ (Continuous Inkjet) requires regular cleaning, filter replacement and flushing. TIJ offers significantly higher resolution (up to 600 DPI vs. typically 72–150 DPI for CIJ) and cleaner operation.
